The Skin's “CLOCK”—An Immersive Experience

InfiniteBox collaborated with the Innovation and Research Centre of The Estée Lauder Companies at this year's China International Import Expo (CIIE) to design and develop an immersive Apple Vision Pro experience themed "The Skin's Biological Clock".

Throughout the development of this immersive environment, we explored the circadian rhythms of skin, urban sleep data analytics, and personalised skin biorhythms. We endeavoured to harness the impressive capabilities of Apple Vision Pro to recreate remarkably lifelike settings, including a minimalist starry sky scene and a realistic rooftop environment. We even incorporated the default soundstage setting from the visionOS sample projects for users to experience.

The Magic Ship of The Orient

Fashion From The Orient was a grand fashion show of 30 minutes, which took place during the World Design Capital Conference in 2023 and involved about 100ea cast members on site. This work showcased a bold reconstruction of a metaverse style performance scene, incorporating elements of Eastern traditional culture. The stage featured a colossal spacecraft named The Magic Ship of The Orient, which was made up of Chinese fans, Pipa, and engines. The oriental fantasy-colored backdrop utilized naked eye 3D and AIGC technology, and was displayed on a massive U-shaped screen (8000CMx700CM) and a top array screen (1150CMx1150CM).The dynamic landscape painting, phoenix, Chinese gardens, Shikumen, and contemporary Shanghai were depicted in a surreal space. The stage background of the fashion show created an astonishing immersive experience, while the giant animations generated by AIGC synchronously echo more than 60 sets of real models. These animations connected with the inspiration elements of clothing design, integrating virtual and real to create a thematic stage beauty setting. This work brought a digital art fashion feast to both online and offline audiences through on-site stunning audio-visual experiences and global live broadcasts. Its aim was to inspire people's fashion imagination that could travel through time and space in the era of digital intelligence.

Illustration and Visual Design - Artwork for Starbucks Chengdu Taikoo Li Flagship Store

Drawing inspiration from the three fundamental elements of coffee cultivation - soil, climate, and altitude - we've created a multidimensional third space experience that seamlessly integrates with Chengdu's unique cultural essence.

In the ground floor's "Hummingbird's Adventure in the Coffee Estate" zone, we've crafted a distinctively Chengdu interactive installation through an innovative combination of illustration art, projection mapping technology, and motion sensing systems. Within the floating dreamlike coffee estate, coffee bean seeds scatter like stars, creating a fantastical ecological tableau alongside Chengdu's iconic giant pandas.

In this vibrant coffee estate, the graceful hummingbird serves as a guide, leading visitors on a magical journey through the coffee growing process. When coffee beans fall onto the floating island, a fascinating story of coffee transformation unfolds.

To enrich the visitor experience, we've carefully designed diverse interactive mechanisms. Whether walking through the interactive zones or pausing at sensor points, visitors trigger unique animated effects, creating personalised immersive experiences that tell individual coffee stories. Harmonizing Art and Coffee: My Journey as a Starbucks Contracted Artist

It is a great honor to establish a long-term partnership with Starbucks as their contracted artist, creating unique cultural artworks for their iconic stores across the country. Since 2020, I have customized art pieces for more than 10 Starbucks Reserve stores, including Taikoo Li Chengdu, Qianhai Shenzhen, Shenyu Li Shanghai, Canton Tower Guangzhou, Lucheng Wenzhou, and Lingnan Tiandi Foshan. At the same time, I have also created a large number of standard artworks that adorn numerous Starbucks stores nationwide. With each collaboration with Starbucks, I delve into the local history, humanities, and cultural characteristics to truly understand the soul of the city. After thorough research and contemplation, I present my findings through art, integrating them with Starbucks' brand culture.

At the Taikoo Li Chengdu store, I depicted giant pandas enjoying tea and the face-changing art of Sichuan Opera, conveying the leisurely and elegant "Ba Shi" lifestyle. At the Qianhai Shenzhen store, the illustrations incorporate landmarks such as the Shenzhen Bay Bridge and the Banyan Tree, showcasing the young city's vitality and innovative spirit. The artworks at the Shanghai store exude a strong "Haipai" style, with the silhouettes of the Bund architecture intertwining with Starbucks coffee. The illustrations at the Canton Tower Guangzhou store draw inspiration from the Five Rams sculpture, presenting the ancient charm of Lingnan culture. Through these localized Starbucks artworks, customers can experience the rich urban flavor while savoring their coffee, evoking an emotional resonance.
